Cough syncope can sometimes be referred to as situational syncope. It is a result of heavy coughing and the straining when you cough raises the pressure in your chest area. This can lower the amount of blood being returned from your legs to your heart and for some people this can lead to a fall in blood pressure and increase the possibility of fainting for some individuals.
We cannot comment on epilepsy, although we provide information on psychogenic blackouts which is similar to non epileptic attack disorder.
