Im sure you should be able to but if I was you. Which ever hospital you are under. Do they have a citizen advice there. As they can get your details. (with ur permission) from your consultant and will fill the forms in for U. I was refused dla. Be4 my raynauds. But I was suffering congestive heart failure. I was advised to go to hospital C.A.B for help. And was then awarded it. Since I developed raynauds and under going other test for my arm. I thought it was still the raynauds causin me so much pain up my full arm. But apparently not. So got my last test Friday this week then get results back. I was told I was able to put in for dla for my raynauds and arm. But I was already on it so im sure you will be able to claim this

There is a legal definition of disabled....it goes something like 'not being able to live a normal life/ act in a normal way' MY WORDS....It is covered under the Equality Act 2010...guidance on matters to be taken into account etc issued by HM Government...Office for Disability Issues. You can find it on odi.uk/equalityact it is a HUGE download but worth it!!! DLA will depend on your functioning ability (and remember that it is supposed to be changing to PIP this year so a new claim MAY be a bit different rules) Check with a welfare rights person before attempting to fill in application form. Hood luck..B

Sorry I meant GOOD luck of course.......

I applied for DLA as I cannot walk, have a carer as I'm limited to what I can do. Unfortunately, moving about either on hands/knees is a form of mobility and a wheelchair - so even with a carer to assist me, I'm not entitled to any DLA. I have repeatedly asked for my feet to be amputated or the nerves cut. I do sympathise but maybe in your case you might be entitled to DLA? By the way my application was completed by Citizens Advice, and showed all the medical records and photographs of all my injuries, bruising, scar tissue to my knees etc. I would recommend you go to CAB for assistance with filling out the comprehensive forms etc...

You need a expeprt to fill in forms and if you can not work and need help and help with meals you might be intileted ???

I received DLA and have been advised to apply for it again. I think what is most important is to explain on forms as much as possible how scleroderma affects you, particularly if you need help with everyday things (cooking, cleaning, getting dressed, holding a pen etc). I spoke with someone from DWP and was told to explain how my condition affects me when I'm at my worst.

All my treatment options have failed, so if they say no I will appeal anyway.
