Hello 👋

Diagnosed with limited cutaneous systemic sclerosis February 17, but suffered awful Raynauds for 11-13 years. Whenever I pick up a virus, colds and coughs etc my throat is always significantly effected. The last time (a few months ago) the pain in my throat was excruciating painful, nothing worked. Took codeine and naproxen but didn’t even touch it. After no sleep for several days and spitting out blood, not a lot, but blood nonetheless in desperation went to the doctors. There was no obvious infection, didn’t even look inflamed, they were going to prescribe me with morphine, but were more concerned about the side effects. It did ease after a few week, but it rears it’s ugly head every now and then. A few years ago it went on for 6 weeks or so. I’m so sorry, I have rambled on quite a bit 🙈 I just wanted to know if this could be in anyway connected to the systemic sclerosis?

Thanks for reading my ramble 🙈😊

Hi Missymoo,

Have you seen a Gastroenterologist at all? How is you swallowing generally? Bad reflux? Just wondering if the viral effects of the cold/flu are adding to an already compromised upper throat issue related to the SS!!
