Went for an endoscope on Tuesday, the diagnoses was as follows:

Multiple polyps in stomach but okay, hiatus hernia is a bit bigger, oesophagus, stomach and duodenum all inflamed, just carry on with meditation but now to add gaviscon as well, any one else having these problems.

Hi sorry to hear they found all of the above in your post. You didn't say if they did anything with your polyps, and they just can't say carry on with current mess because surly something is a foot. I would keep in at them for more help and talk to your GP or Rhumatologist about this if you have know joy.

We have to be our own advocate because knowone else is.

Best wishes

Hi Joan, thanks for you reply, I have a appointment in August perhaps my consultant will have a different view.

It's just all so depressing as we all know that there lots of other things going on with lack of movement, cold toes, painful hands and so much more.

My GP advise to treat an overactive bladder was to stop drinking after 6pm. The medication I was on gave me constipation and I ending up in AE when my back went and bleeding piles for over two weeks.

I'm on a roll now, I still get up drive 70 miles a day and tomorrow I am overseeing 120 children visiting.

I feel lost, totally lost and don't know at this moment in time which way to turn.

Sorry for the lengthy reply, just need to get it out and stop thinking oh well let's see what tomorrow brings.

Thanks

Hi Denny I can relate with you there. I had a bad week recently as a result of a high dose of steroids I have to take. You see as well as having scleroderma and raynauds as if that's not enough I have this year been diagnosed with Coeliac disease and Addison disease yet another autoimmune disease plus other stuff so I know things can become too much. I'm quite an upbeat person through all this but these steroids can knock you for six. Sorry about the rant. Best wishes

Same as you pet...had my endoscope three weeks ago and was exactly same as yourself with multiple polyps which were biopsied and was told that I have ulcers ... and hiatus hernia with inflamed etc. ....hurts my gullet to swallow food..have to drink loads to push the food down. Appetite rubbish! A few mouthfuls of food is too much pain on swallowing so I give up. Then there is the constant burping which brings up the acid to burn my throat and feel it burning the whole way down. Bringing up wee bits of sick is horrible too. Then the sore tummy for months now...so just to add to the mix of the lung damage and joints that hurt like hell so I can hardly walk it is really good fun ...not! Anyway, doc changed my omeprazole and put me on stronger dose of ant-acids -Esomeprazole 40mgs twice a day....was taken off steroids last year as possible further damage to my organs was suspected through the prednisalone. Was told to take the clopidogrel tablet in the evening instead of the morning because of the stomach ulcers. So, it's all good. But, you are not alone Denny, if that is of any comfort! x take care pet and wishing you better going forwardx

Thank you for your reply and as silly at it sounds it's comforting to know that it's part and parcel of the bigger picture.

You hit the nail on the head with the 'wee bits of sick' I found that so unpleasant and you sit bolt upright in bed, that is happening a lot lately.

I also struggling with hard food and I'm going to try a autoimmune diet, hopefully it will help.

Take care and I do hope things settle down for you.

Same thing. Started 4 yrs ago and I foolishly ignored it. I still have the gravity-defying food can't reach stomach problem. After a lot of experienting, I have found what not to even try to eat, but I can now eat things I couldn't 2-3 yrs ago. I take the same dose of omeprazole still. If you ever have a day or two when nothing can go down, I find it helpful to sip on electrolyte fluids. I do hope you get better x

Thank you for your reply, I guess it's just a case of what you can eat.

Did your polyps just get left to do their own things as I had the ones removed from my cervix. Perhaps these polyps are okay to be left untreated.

All a bit confusing.......

Mine were biopsied and OK. By the time I had the endoscopy my oesophagus and stomach were full of ulcers. Healed now, but I need regular checks. I have very slow and difficult motility in the upper GI tract, so I need to be very careful, it gets boring, but better than the alternative. Meds are the hardest to swallow. Hydroxy tastes very nasty when it doesn't want to go down.

Keep reminding your GP about the gastro problems. Raynaud's is so often the top of the list that it can be overlooked.

I sincerely pray for all of us. We are courageous and enduring, though the way gets rough sometimes with these on-going complications; we get cleared up with one or two things and then we endure another 2 or 3. The madness, my goodness. Praying for us as I stated. Wishing you all a better day today and more hope through research and our doctors' attention, as well as the wonderful fellowship we have out here in Cyber . . . it truly is loving and encouraging. Thank you all.
