Reynauds AND a nerve tumour ....

Well, this is great, apart from having Reynauds, which I was born with, plus squamous cell carcinomas on my legs, I now have a quite rare tumour, called a schwannoma. I had it cut out, ( painful, because it grows within the nerve sheath ).... Because of compromised circulation , massive sepsis occurred, so into surgery each day, for 4 days, to clean it up, and now a huge hole in my leg !!.... If this requires a skin graft, when it's sufficiently healed, I'm wondering if it'll also turn septic. Lord, it never ends !!!!!!!

Sorry to hear you are having such a difficult time. Prayers being sent for healing and no infections! 🙏

Thank you, it's difficult with Reynauds, because of compromised circulation, and good circulation is essential for healing....but here's hoping !!!!!

I had my big toe and joint off last December and the wound will not heal, I don't think a skin graft will be considered if the circulation is so bad but I sympathize as you are much worse than me and I hope something can be done to aid healing.

I had a small graft over a year ago, just below my knee, and it healed well. If I need one for this wound, it's just above my ankle, so may not heal as well, or as quickly, and it'll be so much bigger. I find the closer to the extremities these things are, the healing is so much slower, and the risk of infection so much higher. I wish you well with your toe!!!... It'll be ok, just take the longest time...x

I feel for you and hope for the best. Meanwhile, take good care of yourself. Is your rheumatologist informed of all this?

Zenabb, I don't have a rheumatologist, my raynauds is mostly a symptomatic, luckily. But...when it comes to healing I have problems.....
