I'm new here, and have not had time to read all posts. A couple hit home to me. I read of calcium deposits you can see. Has anyone got deposits behind the eyes, in the heart?? That is me. I have Scleroderma with Raynaud's.
I'm told I have the second one "systemic something" I'm sorry I have had this since 1988. I still don't know much, just in the last few months have I had to come to terms with it. I have also had a stroke in 2010. So I am a little slow in comprehending things. I saw a cardiologist yesterday. It seems my heart has more issues. I read the one about hot and cold problems, I cannot stand to be hot, but I don't due well in cold. I despise anything against my skin, clothes, jeans etc. When I am home I am in a very loose top and short pj bottoms. Cold weather is coming and I am dreading it. God has let have these years in relative ease. So I guess whatever comes I will deal with.
I will give more info soon.... Any feedback would be welcome to me. I knew there were others but as I said I sort of ignored it cause I felt I was the only one. In the back of my mind I knew better. I live in a very small town and as far as I know I'm it

I don't have the eyes but I have the heart. You seem to have systemic sclerosis (Raynaud and Scleroderma) like me. Just like we have hard skin on the hands we can get plaques on the heart. Have you had it investigated. Do you have a cardiologist as well as a reumatologist? If you can't stand anything on your skin then I suppose you have to have a warm environment. I am able to put layers of clothes on and I have an electric over-blanket for when I am in bed.
I just started seeing a rheumatologist again, and a cardiologist. I cannot stand to be warm nor cold. I have blankets on the bed, a fan in front of it. Most nights I flip the blankets off at least ten times. I don't breath well at all in cold.
How long have you had it? I was diagnosed in 88, but I think it may have begun a year earlier. I had the sac around my heart removed in 87 it was calcifying. Now we are seeing some more in the heart. I don't know what the plan is yet. It is getting colder here, so I was told to wear gloves, hat etc. outside, which I do until I walk thru the door. Some days its very painful to wear 'normal clothes'. thank you for replying.
I have calcium deposits all over my body. They are all within the first couple layers of skin usually. I have ones that come to the surface and it starts to look like a pimple or something and then when I pop it a bunch of calcium comes out and it looks like toothpaste. It is the weirdest thing I've ever seen. I have never had any heart problems yet. I hope I don't ever have to deal with that. I have calcium deposits mostly on my hips and elbows. They start as little tiny beebees and then they get larger or move to the surface and make their way out. It's really nice to hear other people's stories in here. I don't know anyone who has it so it's hard for people to understand.
That is so true socold, People have been looking at me for years trying to figure out what is wrong with me. I have had to explain my disease so many times I get angry. I stay home. I try to stay involved in my church. I have never heard of calcium deposits moving to the service of the skin. Do you still function ? I mean work, clean, walk etc.? The reason I ask, I have good days and bad days. Lately it has been more bad. I stay exhausted about all the time. I have had people look at me with a " there's nothing wrong with you look" . As I said I stay as busy as I can in church. My heart is what happened first, a year later I got sick again and the next set of Doctors tried to connect the two problems. They couldn't. The cardiologist I am seeing now is the one that told me of it. I don't think anyone understands.
