Help...

Hi i am wanting some advice. I have had my fingers go cold white and numb for a while now. recently it has started to also go the opposite..really hot and my finger tips start to tingle like pins and needles but really painful. It is only my palm and my fingers that go red and stop at my knucles. has anyone else had this?? im speaking to my gp tomorrow as its getting worse. My hands feel consintly tight and swollen. also my left arm has that feeling as i have had my blood pressure taken?? thanks

My fingers go hot and tingly following a raynauds attack (i have scleroderma) funnily enough if my fingers are hot and swollen following a severe attack when i have been screaming with pain (i kid you not, but this doesnt happen very often as years of experience means i take great care of my hands) the first thing i want to do is put them in something cold. I have to stop myself doing this as this can lead to damage. Raynauds can bring swelling even without scleroderma, so you need to stop the attacks in the first place.

check out the raynauds and scleroderma associations website raynauds.org.uk - there is some great information there as well as tips to cope with the symptoms. eg. Have you got yourself a nice pair of gloves ? ;)x

Well went to see my gp and they didnt give me any information. Basically told me just to get some gloves and keep my hands warm. Didnt describe why i was having the sensation down my arm. Plus made me feel like why did i even bother going to see him!! Thanks for the advice though x
