Getting up to make a cup of tea and watch TV as I have been in bed 2h and clearly not going back to zzz

Yes I had awful insomnia, ambien helps me sleep and sometimes I need a little Xanax.

I too have a similar problem, made worse by using a Sleep Apnoea Mask, not realised by most people the Mask does not help a person to sleep, but only to sleep safely. But it precludes me lying in bed trying to sleep, because wearing it and having air pumped up the nose, is too uncomfortable to be able to lie trying to get back to sleep. Meaning I have to get up, I usually go to the living room , have a read, then when I feel tired go back to bed. I do get a fair result from this most of the time, but occasionally I need to do it again. This is the only advice that I can give, but everyone is different, the one thing I have done, is I no longer worry about it, I get naps during the day, which I find useful, but this is my way, which may not be recommended for everybody.

Must be awful wearing a mask and unable to sleep. I’m awake again -asleep at 22:00 and wide awake at 01:00. Cup of tea, chocolate and on my smartphone...my GP has given me 7.5mg zopiclone which makes me sleep all night but I only want to use it once per week to avoid tolerance/dependence.

I sleep 4 hours awake then for 3 , I have been able to fall back to sleep for a couple of hours due to taking a 5 mg Valium before bed. This has helped me for the past 2 months. Before that no going back to sleep. Tried every sleep med invented since 1999.
