low oxygen in the day (awake)

hello do your good selves with sleep apnea also get low oxygen levels in the day time but when awake. I know I was definitely awake but sitting watching telly and I noted later i had got a reading of 81% (subject to any inaccuracies in Apple Watch).

If you have, what treatment have you and or does oxygen treatment at night help with daytime too when awake?

Do not believe your watch, the skin area is not always the best, and it's a tool only.

Get an Oximeter, lot better

I’ve been thinking of getting one, I think I ought even if proves Watch is dodgy. Thanks for quick reply, much appreciated👍

I agree about having multiple devices to check things. I have a very good Fitbit which does ECG and Oxygen overnight but I also have clinical grade oximetry device and a secondary device to back it up. I also have multiple apps as well as the CPAP machine which can tell you quite a lot as a sleep study from home although it would be with the use of the CPAP machine. Your watch can move and affect your readings but it usually on main is fairly accurate. To answer your question though yes I do get low daytime levels but I also have COPD. The two can go together quite a lot. If your oxygen levels going down to that low though you should be getting some support with that through the day. I was told if mine drop below 90 I should go to A&E but you need to check with your GP about that because they do differ. If you were too low they might give you oxygen I don't know I don't have answers myself yet but I know that I've been told to keep an eye on it so if you find it's the same on your oximetry device which you can buy at the chemist for a decent one but I've got one online which backed up and tells the same reading roughly. Then I would get some fairly quick advice about that. Hope this helps. My oxygen levels go down to the low 80s overnight quite a lot which is not good either but I need to get back to using my CPAP.

thank you that is really helpful. I think I shall start by getting a oximeter and see what readings it gets / compare to Watch. There is margin for error if Watch not in right place, it seems to be sensitive but is inclined not to take a reading at all based on when I’ve experimented in daytime. BUT it’s time to get a oximeter as I shall keep wondering, then dependent on what shows I’ll make a call to GP. That’s a plan which it better than pondering 😊
