The words anxiety and a good night's sleep don't seem to go together! The anxiety takes over and all good intentions go out of the window! Have you had any explanations that make sense to you?

I was suffering from anxiety disorder from last 2 years and had miscarriage in Feb and from there life seems worst.sometimes I could sleep well but sometimes not.always in a tension that something bad is going to happen.

that's information that you can process, in that- the resulting anxiety has a cause. I'm sorry to hear about your loss, you will need to be kind to you for a while, eat properly and take the best physical care of yourself that you can. being frightened is difficult to live with, especially when it creeps up on you as you try to get some sleep. Make a list of everything you are afraid of and beside each, put how likely it is that this will happen between a score of 1-10. Sometimes, it helps to rationalize what's real from our fear. give it a try, nothing to lose? some of my fears have been so far-fetched over the years lol, that when I wrote them down and thought about things I could see that. keep in touch and let me know how you are doing. x

You suffer from Sleep Paralysis? Have you been formally diagnosed? Best bet is to visit a sleep clinic and have a sleep doctor do a sleep study on you to figure out what the problem is. Most likely it is Narcolepsy but again, only the doctor can tell you what is wrong with you. For the anxiety, you probably want to see a Psychiatrist/neuropsychiatrist to get help for that. There are anti-anxiety medications that also help with other seizures such as the sleep paralysis you experience but you need to get your doctors to help you figure this out.

Sleep paralysis is ,as far as I am aware, is quite a normal part of of sleep. Many years ago i was like you , absolutely terrified with this, but when it happens to now, I relax and let myself go back to sleep. If it occurs late at night when I am reading, it is a worse experience, not only paralysed, but having hallucinations, that feel very real. But I have found the same thing to do, is just surrender to sleep, and next time I wake it is fine. BUT I am not a doctor, just a fellow sufferer, please go to you Doctor, sleep problems are more understood than they were, when I got diagnosed with Apnea, and the signs of Sleep Disorders better recognised. But please remember that all cases are not necessarily the same, so explain in detail to the Doctor all the symptoms that are affecting you, good luck.
