Bowen's Disease

Hi I had a skin biopsy taken from my stomach just to the left from my belly button. I use to inject Exenatide for my type 2 diabetes which left lumps all over my lower stomach. One of these turned scaby and horrible over a period of 18 to 24 months. The biopsy showed I had Bowen's.

Has anyone had any experience of this type of localised skin cancer. During the biopsy most if not all affected skin was removed but has to be repeated. I am waiting on a appointment with my local hospital.

I have a long list of problems including liver cirrhosis developed from non alchahol fatty liver disease.

Any words of wisdom appreciated.

Thank you for your reply.

I have always used factor 50 sunblock and never used sunbeds. Consultant says it could be genetic but as I was adopted, I wouldn't know for sure.

You and I must remain positive.

Thanks. I have now been given the all clear for the Bowens and had a patch of sun damage frozen on my scalp. I have to stay covered up and be aware that the skin conditions may return. Yes remaining positive is essential. I hope you are feeling OK.
