Because my mandible bones have shrunk with the healing process rev each tooth extracted /falling out. Sjogrens sufferers don’t have much success with implants as they eventually fall out re the nature of the disease. Haven’t got $60 k either!

Sorry to hear of your troubles. I'm waiting for permanent dentures. It's difficult and dejecting. You have to adjust so much in your life. Thank heaven for tuna salad and mashed potatoes. Keep your chin up. 🤨

Oh, and if you possibly can, try for a second opinion preferably from a younger dentist with more modern equipment. I was told several years ago that I may not be able to get implant dentures. But this dentist says I'm fine for it. I didn't take the medication to improve bone density because I was always having dental procedures. I did take and herbal supplement, Horsetail, which is supposed to build bone. I haven't had a bone density test since but will soon.

My bone density is fine - I refuse to have the rest of my teeth removed!! I improvise with these“Flipper Teeth 🦷 “, which occasionally give me ulcers and I usually have to remove when I eat. They are robustly strong so until the world 🌎 opens up again & I get to Thailand/Vietnam to have my teeth sorted and they do AMAZING AFFORDABLE DENTAL WORK, then these flipper teeth surfice. I miss eating cheese/ nachos as it makes my mouth feel like chaff.

That's so interesting. Thailand and Viet Nam. But USA and Australia can't? Why can't you get fixed dentures then? I had partial dentures for quite awhile which worked well for me. I had enough teeth to attach them too. I agree with waiting to have your teeth removed. I did and regret it. I wasn't given enough info about the negatives. Now I'm waiting for permanent dentures with posts to hold in the bottom piece. I can't chew or bite. The bottom temporary denture won't stay in no matter what product I use. Bah!
