Before i was diagnosed i had facial swelling because of a blocked parotid gland , i can now keep that under control by massaging the glands . I also had swelling in my lymph nodes all over my body, when I started on rituximab this has be less of a problem. Do you know what is causing the swelling in your case ?

I think i had Sjogrens syndrome since i was a teenager. I had signs of dry lips , slowly getting dry eyes , feeling lazy like and getting a red skin discolor on my neck and arms. When i had my stroke , it was discovered i had Fibromuscular Dysplasia . The Doctor said some kinda disease that once invaded my body but they didn't no what . . Anyway several years passed , my body was just so tired . A Rheumatologist diagnosed me with Sjogrens Syndrome . He basically said to loose weight and exercise . He said he could give me a steroid but it would be to risky for me . I lost my health insurance when i got divorced.. If i get upset then i get tired the next day. I can't stand when my face puffs up . I can actually hear my face start to blow up like . I will start massaging my face and hope it works . Thanks for the reply . :)

Thats great Goody , when it helps it is such a relief 😀 i was referred to an oral surgeon as i had massive swelling on the left parotid with several infections he did a scan with dye that showed i had some damage due to the infections . He showed me how to massage and i do it 5-6 times a day when things are bad , i can tell now when it’s happening as my face and jaw feel different. Beware of infection if the jaw gets very painful and hot or you have a temperature and go to your dentist. I also use high floride toothpaste which I get on prescription. Good luck with it and keep massaging!!! Xx

So far i have never had pain in my jaws . It sounds like you have a really good Doctor , lucky you . I had great Military Doctors but once i got divorced that was the end of the Military . These Civilian Doctors where i live don't seem caring . Oh i was on You Tube and i ran across this woman with Sjogrens , she said garlic makes her feel better . This was the title in case you want to check it out .

Raw Garlic for Sjogren's symptoms-brain fog/headache/swelling/fatigue. It was interesting . I am still messaging . Thanks :) X

Hi from Europa!!

I have SS and at times I get my face swollen around the mouth, especially upper part towards the nose. Also top of the cheeks.

Also both sides of the upper neck.

As soon as I get attacked by it I take cortisone tablet.

Helps a bit.

I mostly wake up early in the morning with this dilemma.

It takes about 2 -3 days before it is all back to normal.

My skin also is extremely dry and I have all the symptoms SS brings along with it.

learned not to eat sour fruit, vegetable at all. it makes it worse.

Wish everyone the best.

Hi from USA, Years ago i had a stroke so i can't take steroids . You are so lucky you can . The way you described your swelling is the same as mine. I look like a mess some days but messaging my face has helped .

Sorry to hear about your stroke. Wish you the very, very best.

I take one day at the time. Can't plan much for the time to come. But you are aware of this for sure. Warm greetings from Germany

Well, I finally got on a prescription cortisone. I take when I am attacked.

helps a bit. takes 2 - 3 days though.

Pain in joints and burning in the eyes can drive a patient nearly out of the mind.

there are days I can not leave my apartment.
