Help! Pee in Pool???

Hello. I am new here. F 58. I've had bladder incontinence for 2 years and Pudendal Neuralgia and wear "pull ups".

It would really help my pelvic pain to go swimming but I can't go in the water without a "diaper" on. I was thinking I could just use some type of plastic like pants to go over the diaper, then, over that, a swim skirt style of bathing suit. I searched all over the web looking for something to wear that would work for in a pool. I could only find a type for fecal incontinence. I have asked at the gym and other people, but no one knows.

Does anyone know of something or have any ideas for what I can wear in a pool? Thank you. -Kat

NorthShoreCare doesn't carry them anymore, they told me that Amazon has them. I used the a lot when I was in pool therapy and they worked fine for me.

Hi i would lock post also as stops it going net wide instead of just on HU.

There are some swim ones often made for children though but should be some bigger ones i know have in OZ

I will hunt for you later.

It's an area that needs more input/thought into for sure as prevents others going swimming to.

Pants wise ones with internal elastics with thicker elastics maybe two pairs even?

You could Approach Quack or specialist if you see one for Pudendal nerve entrapment.

To see about using an indwelling catheter with flip flo valve for short periods get them to teach/show you how to insert/use so can do yourself(Pretty easy as have my own for when need like when cold)

And yes, you could call one of the large online retailers that carry a large supply of all kinds of products to see if they have any product advise, too, as suggested by another member of this group.

Swimmates by tranquility will catch small leaks until so you can get from the changing room to the pool without it running down your legs.

The other thing you could do is ask Quacks/Medics about an indwelling Catheter with a valve?

Multitude of ways to deal with that! Have for say a week then go swimming often with in then remove for a week as they will probably squeal if say a day!.

If not sure on inserting yourself(it's not hard do my own)they can easily show you how to remove(just push syringe into in/out valve twist to lock then let it self fill then feel it able to ease catheter out)

you could use for longer if wanted to or find suitable but look/learn with your medical team

You could buy your own ones if they baulk at cost as can buy on likes of ebay cheap enough.

Sure you can get/infection risk but you learn to minimise it's commoner to get the first time you use than all the time as body gets used to it.

(Had first time i used them in first week just got some antibiotics dealt with and never had an issue since in all the years used them)

Way i look at is don't be afraid of them use them as something to get on with your life with just like you do with glasses/teeth/crutch/Sticks/Pads.

When my local clinics nurse asked who does them for you? I do myself.Oh your brave.No if i do there is only my bacteria present! less infection risk than if others are! True she said.

But it means no leaks so feel more confident to relax and enjoy your swimming etc.

northshorecare.com carries both the Sani=pant and the Gary Pant. Both are waterproof vinyl type material to ware over diapers in everyday life so should work in the pool too. I have found the Gary pants to have tighter fitting legs but maybe that is just for my body size. They are more expensive but much cooler to wear if you have to wear them under you clothes in the summer. The sani-pants come as pull up and snap on and are less bulky.

I don't know about the Gary pants but the Sani-pants are available other places just put Sani-pants into Google and same try putting Gary pants into Google,
