Hi QueenoftheJungle I know you feel that way. My parents had 3 children with sickle cell out of 4. So you can imagine how when one gets better the one gets ill. It was non stop and I could see what it was doing to them. My mum always felt so guilty. When my y sister died, she took consolation in the fact that she was in pain. You can't feel guilty because you didnt know. You can only love her as much as you can and support her. It will take a lot from you. You need to make sure you get a break sometimes and ask for help from friends and family even though I know you will prefer to take care of her yourself. She will be more clingy than the average child. You need to be her strength and fight for her because trust me there is always an idiot out there who wants to make things difficult. From school to hospital to the playground. But don't feel guilty. Let her be able to tell you whenever she is in pain. I say this because I used to feel bad when my pain started and would be so scared to tell my parents because I felt like I was about to destroy their day. As a grown up with my children, I know it was very hard for them. I wish you and your daughter the best life has to offer.
