They went straight to recommending a full radical hysterectomy. I was past childbearing age. So we did that. Cancer had been caught very early. They felt very strongly I would be fine after that. In a cancer monitoring check up 16 months later...a tumor was found in the small section of vaginal canal remaining. I've just come through a year of aggressive chemo and radiation treatments for the recurrence. Be prepared for anything..

MomCat6 congratulations on completing treatment!

When I first diagnosed uterine cancer my doctor recommended hormone therapy because the cancer was early stage. My plan was to have a baby after completing treatment. The whole time I was receiving treatment I was afraid me getting pregnant was going to happen. After being in treatment for 9 months I became NED and continued to have biopsies. 9 months and 3 biopsies later I had a recurrence and had to have surgery. I am almost 7 years out and am still NED of uterine cancer. Your advice to be prepared for anything is great advice.

Wishing you all the best.

Thank you for sharing your story. You have been through so much and your story is a reminder to all of us, donʻt take anything for granted. What a warrior woman you are. Did you have any other treatments such a radiation? Was your cancer a low grade and low stage? Wishing you healing and light.

I was diagnosed in 2015 with Stage 1A Grade 3 (serous features) endometrial cancer. What worried me most before being diagnosed, was how long the cancer may have been lingering in my body before diagnosis and how far it may have progressed.

I was fortunate to have a wonderful team of gynecologist, oncologist, radiation oncologist and medical doctor who gave me the best care. I was diagnosed at an early stage, but since grade 3 put me at greater risk of recurrence, their recommendation was for chemo and radiation. I completed this in 4 months and after a 3 years of CT scans and surveillance, I am now a 6 year survivor.

It was difficult to be out of control of what was going on in my body and I had to learn to give over control to the medical team taking care of me and have confidence in their ability to get me through treatment.

Those of us living with a history of cancer always wonder whether or not it will come back, but I've learned to move on, take care of myself and live my life in as healthy as way as possible.

Wishing everyone the best!
