When I was diagnosed in 2015, like most women facing a diagnosis of endometrial cancer, I was shocked and scared. I always thought of myself as a healthy and strong person, but this was different and left me feeling out of control.
I knew I had to deal with this.
I was diagnosed with Stage 1A, grade 3 serous endometrial cancer and while it was in the early stage, due to the serous diagnosis, the treatment recommendation was chemo and brachytherapy, which I went through for 4 months. It was difficult since I had the side effects of hair loss, joint pain and neuropathy. Looking back on it, I found my strength again by taking control and getting the treatment needed to fight this thing.
I learned that if I can deal with this, I am strong enough to deal with just about anything.

The first time I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer I was treated with hormone therapy. I experience many side effects from this treatment. I had a rash all around my face and I always felt cold. I wore long sleeves in 90 degree weather. Although I cold wear long sleeves to keep warm nothing could hide the huge rash on my face. Through my faith, meditation and just believing and telling myself that I would get through the diagnosis I learned the depth of strength I had just like you Kathy. I also found my inner peace to guide me through.
The COVID scare made me desensitized to death. So many news of people of dying of COVID and some of them people I know. So when I got diagnosed in March 2021, my 1st reaction was "so this is how it's going to end". I suppose this is how numbness manifested.
The big insight was going thru my bucket list and realized there was only a few left and it wasn't that difficult to do.
