35 years on... ovarian cyst or what?

Hi everyone, I am new here and I guess I am in need of help and support through my uncertainty and fear and constantly wondering if I will get to my appointment in three days for my results. Summarizing, I had a hysterectomy in 1985 to improve my constant back pain that I had endured for five years. the surgeons said I had a uterus a third times larger than it should be. Six weeks after the op I was feeling good and pain free. The ovaries were left intact and I was also offered a tummy tuck (cosmetic); how could I refuse? Unfortunately my back pain did return a couple of years later. I nursed the pain and got on with my life. Four months ago, during lockdown I vomited in the early hours after eating a home cooked meal of sausage, pasta with peri peri sauce. I put it down to the sauce. Following that I tried everything to improve my gut with healthy diets and visits to my doctor for advice. So, where am I now? Blood tests were taken and finally the c125 was done after which an appointment was made to see a gynaecologist who made an appointment for me to have a biopsy last week. It all now seems a bit quick. Sometimes I feel okayish but the mornings are troublesome, especially waiting for bowel movement to start. I still get cramps which I used to put down to IBS symptoms. I am now wondering what I should eat to "lessen the load" as I was given two slices of victoria sandwich from a dear friend who meant well. But maybe the cake would make no difference. Sorry to go on. I welcome your thoughts. Thanks for reading x

I did have a constant, low-level back pain for years before my diagnosis- perhaps more a stiffness and discomfort than a pain.

Hi. You don’t say what they took the biopsy of? Or whether you had an ultrasound and ct scan? If it is OC (and it may well not be) chemo may address your symptoms fairly quickly. I wish you the best in finding the cause of your symptoms.

Hi delia2, I had a ct scan a month after an ultrasound. A few days after the ct scan i had a uss guided biopsy of the omentum. My appointment is on Wednesday with results. My cramps are getting worse in the mornings and feels and then i can get on with the rest of my day but today after going out for a drive then walk I felt tired later and rested for a few hours then experienced pain as I turned from my right side to my left then had pain as I got up. The pain stopped and there was a lot of rumbling in my abdomen that went on for 15 minutes. No nausea or pain. I can't wait to get a diagnosis and be done with it.

Thank you for your kind words. I had the results of my biopsy and been diagnosed with endometrial cancer without uterus. Such a shock but slowly getting over it and now waiting for chemotherapy xx

Not knowing makes the wait that much more difficult. I know you just want answers and to start feeling better. It took doctors 4 months to finally diagnose my symptoms of “IBS” and bloating. Mine was primary peritoneal cancer but yours is not necessarily OC. One day at a time and prayers for whatever the future holds. Keep us posted. May I ask what your CA125 was?

Hi Archeveritas, thank you, your words are comforting. I don't know what the ca125 was except there was a question mark next to my letter report with the diagnosis. I guess I will know more tomorrow.

Hi, it wasn't good news, I have endometrial cancer without uterus. Slowly getting over the shock; now waiting for chemotherapy :( I have good support and a positive approach that it can be blasted away in time but for now it's the start of an unwanted journey.

So sorry to hear this. I know exactly how you are feeling. It doesn’t even seem real. My journey began with endometrial cancer. I am 3 years out now. Chemo worked well for me. I pray it does the same for you. Stay safe. Paper towels at every sink. We are your sounding board. So many great, brave, informative women on this site.
