Im 22 with polystic ovaires, I'm very scared I night have ovarian cancer, I have every symptom for it, and been bloated for two weeks now, I've seen a gp and I have to wait six weeks to have a scan done, does anyone know whether they can show if I have ovarian cancer? I want to make sure I don't have it, if I do I want to make sure I know and that they direct it, I have two kids 1 and 2, someone please let me no what's the best way to get them to make sure I have it or not

Ymar, have them do bloodwork and test for elevated CA125. Normal is 0-34 here in US. It may not be a reliable marker for you as some patients CA never rises. It also may not be elevated in early stage OC. However, it's a VERY reliable marker for many women, including me. FYI-abdominal and transvaginal ultrasound does NOT pick up OC in early stages. Get a combination CT/PT scan which picks up much more detail. Do not let anyone dismiss your symptoms because you're so young. OC is VERY sneaky and you'll need a gynecological oncologist to properly assess your situation. Most OC is epithelial which grows on outside of your organs initially. That's why you'll need the CT/PT scan. Advocate fiercely for your rights as a patient. Good luck. ❤💜🧡

That is ridiculous to wait 6 weeks. You need to see a reputable gynecologist oncologist and get tested sooner. Please keep us posted. It could be something totally different but stay vigilant and be your own best advocate. I agree you need someone to go with you when you see doctor. Prayers.

Ask for. CA125 bloodwork. See if they will do s CT earlier or an in office ultrasound. Either will detect trouble. The wait is very anxiety producing.

They did this to my mother and kept putting her off. Your best bet to get seen right away is to go to the ER and tell them you have ascities and it’s making it hard for you to breathe. That’s the trick. They’ll do an ultrasound then to drain the fluid off your abdomen (if that’s what it is-praying you’re just bloated). If it is fluid build up, don’t worry. It’s super simple my mother gets it drained every 2-3 weeks. They don’t even put you to sleep for it. But saying that and that it’s hard for you to breathe they will definitely take it seriously then. Make sure they do a CT and not a PET. Yes, you see more with a PET which is great but if you do have ascities things can hide in the fluid on a PET. Whereas, a CT sees through the fluid. Good luck and don’t wait around for 6 weeks bug them until they take you seriously. Prayers you don’t have this.
