A bit of a mystery....

Stage 3 Fallopian tube cancer diagnosed August 2018. Debulking, chemo, and on 100 milligrams per day Zejula for 9 months. CA 125 began to climb two months ago and Zejula has been increased to 200 milligrams. CT scan two weeks ago was totally clear so we do not know why CA 125 is climbing. Am being checked weekly again. I am 78 and very active and so healthy until this appeared in my life. Am tolerating the 200 milligrams which I could not do in the beginning. Wondering if anyone has similar experience. Like everyone else I dread thoughts of chemo again.

I was on Zejula also. However my CA125 numbers went from higher to low. 221 to 33 I could not tolerate 200 or higher so I was on 100 also. But my 33 number is not accurate. Two weeks later I had an ultrasound done with ascites in my abdominal. So I was explained that the CA125 was not a cancer marker that could be used any further. So I’m as confused as you with Zejula CA results. I’m now back on chemo for 6 cycles and I hope then they can find a new maintenance to keep me in remission again. Prayers for you 🙏🏼🙏🏼

How are you tolerating chemo this time around? I was told the next type would not make me lose my hair. Not very important in the big picture. Will be monitored several weeks or more. Thank you so very much and I love your name!

So far so good. Minimal side effects Down the first couple days but then good till around day 14 for about 3 days then great again. The nickname of my current chemo is “snippet” comes out of nowhere and buts you down. And I find that to be true so far. Lol

I’ve been told by two separate doctors that CA125 if it’s a good marker for you can start to rise up to three months before anything shows up on the CT. Additionally CA125 can rise due to other reasons such as inflammation for example a UTI could cause an increase. Typically they wait to see a significant increase or a steady upward trend before taking action. Hope this helps.

Rahmaam, except for the 3 month notice of recurring cancer, this is what I have been told about the CA 125. I have another CT scan this Friday and that will be over 3 months since my numbers began rising. I will pray for another clear scan. This time, I also have a gastrointestinal challenge we have just begun working on, so it will be interesting to see if the rising numbers settle when this challenge settles.
