Hello everyone,

I was diagnosed with serous low grade ovarian carcinoma stage 3C December 2017 and had a radical hysterectomy with debulking. I had researched treatment options and learned that chemo has little effect on the type of of cancer that I have, consequently I did not take chemo. My oncologist had me try letrozole and tamoxifen but I couldn’t tolerate either. I’ve been researching integrative oncologist, Chinese medicine, and other holistic approaches. Has anyone had any success with a non-traditional approach? If you have, please let me know who or what you used. Thanks!

Hi Keog

I was diagnosed low grade in May 2017. I am on letrozole now, definitely side effects but not sure what else is out there for us low graders. Fr M my research seems more treatment options for high grade or brca. I am also looking into targeted therapies. But very much interested in the intergrstive approach. I am following your post with interest. Love to hear other members input.

Much love

Thanks and best of luck. I’ve been reading a lot books on integrated therapies and listening to a cancer summit on integrative approaches. This is being done by Kris Carr through Hay House. They have some excellent speakers. Here’s the link to the summit - healingcancersummit.com/sch...

Hi Keog,

I’ve just been diagnosed with this too. I’ve had the surgery and will meet the chemo man in a fortnight.

I’m reading the Hay house approach and trying to stay in the present rather than looking far ahead. I’m a psychotherapist so it’s relatively familiar.

The chemo seems ineffective but “Target Ovarian Cancer” talks about Niraparib which I will ask about. And Avastin.

I see that Green Tea (not capsules but 2 cups a day) has a reputation of reducing ovarian cancer tumours.

Not yet sure if this is an oestrogen led or genetic so need that clarified as certain foods may be unhelpful. Macmillan ovarian cancer book and sources of further information were helpful in gently researching what can be done in terms of self help. Penny Brohn Bristol Cancer web site is also very helpful. It may sound weird but writing down and acknowledging thoughts and feelings rather than repressing them is something I use and helps me realise when I’m not in the present moment so I can come back to right now.
