Hey there wishing every one well I am back in treatment after two years of no treatment - they put me on Doxil once a month and Avastin 2xmo. The Doxil is Chemo and the Avastin is an immunotherapy drug - so far so good side effects are not that bad! I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer stageIII I have my ups and downs but I am determined to beat this monster into the ground! ๐Ÿ”จ๐Ÿ”จ

I receive my treatment at the Duke Cancer Center which is part of Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina, USA! All of you are in my prayers and we must keep fighting as long as we can Ovarian Cancer is always going to be a part of our lives but things could always be worse!

Good luck with Doxil! Spray deodorant all over my sides and under my boobs and anywhere I might sweat was one of my secrets for surviving side effects. Also sleeping with cold packs helped a lot. Some of us with multiple recurrences find it helpful to drop the war metaphors and "live" with cancer, but others never tire of the word "fight." With ovarian cancer and our high recurrence rates we're living something different than many others with cancer. You do you boo boo!

Many thanks for these tips : my Doc. Told me the same thing about the ice which really works well. I use powder under my arms and boobs which also helps and the other kicker is that I am now on BP meds. Until treatment is over ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ Ahh!

But I am determined to kick but as are you! Please keep me posted as to how you are doing! We are Warrior Woman!

It's been a little over two years for me and I am stage 4. I have never had a recurrence because it has never left! So girls, consider yourself lucky if you get a break, some of you for years that is just awesome! I'm on doxil and sleeping with cold packs is wonderful I do the same thing. God bless everyone!

Thanks so much and cheering for you! Personally, I'm not a warrior and not fighting and none of that language makes any sense to me at all after all these years and treatments, but I totally support you and anyone else being a warrior!! I'm more of a goddess. ;) i think being diagnosed in my 20s I just have to focus on the living part not the fighting part to be able to sustain treatments.

I hear you Mimanda, I cannot imagine what my mantra would be if I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in my 20's.

My heart goes out to youโค๏ธ

All of us develop our own coping mechanisms, please continue with what works best for you๐Ÿ‘

If you don't mind my asking how old are you now?

I came out of a year long remission. I am on Doxil since August 10th. I have so much to learn. I don't understand about Avastin. That list of side effects looks bad. I haven't have side effects from Doxil yet. When I was on carbo taxol it didn't bother me much, but I did lose hair. My doctor says I can stay on various drugs for a very long time. I don't understand what he means though. I don't like to read stats to tell me how I will be. I just don't understand.
