Had total lap hyst, April 7th due to bleeding,fibroids,found ovary cyst which first path looked okay, then went for 2 week check my gyn said it was ov cancer. I know it's stage 1C but she said she'll wait no chemo yet. I'm scared I'm doing the right thing????

Was it your oncologist who said no chemo? I had a similar thing to you but I had my cyst removed first, again first path showed it was borderline and second one showed it was a mutinous carcinoma. That's when they sent me for a hysterectomy.

You need to ask what grade it is as I've been told grade 1 doesn't really react to chemo. I was told initially mine was grade 3 but then they downgraded it to grade 2.

As I understand it grade 3 being the most agressive / likely to spread.

If you go to your GPS, you can ask for a copy of your path report- this helped me as I then googled all the big words.

Sorry, I meant to explain that 1c is your stage - same as me. Your grade is something different - it's to do with how the cells present themselves. They are classed as poorly or well differentiated which gives you a grade. Hope that helps.

What grade cells did you have? If high grade like clear cell (in my case Stage 1a) they recommended chemo. I finished in March this year.

Can put the 1C17-72 and 74 in the context of the report? It may be a marker of some sort, but it's not one I'm familiar with.
