Hi ladies my name is Nancyanne and I'm new to this site.I have metastatic ovarian cancer diagnosed 12/30/2016 Happy New Year to me😂.I've started chemotherapy and on my 5th treatment,It hasn't been bad so far so I'm going with the flow. Carboplatin/taxol 9 treatments, then scan, followed by a surgery.I will resume chemotherapy after I recover from surgery.I'm BRCA2 positive and I had a swollen left neck lymph node.I am very happy to be a part of this community.

Hi Nancyanne, after 25 yrs. in remission, I also was diagnosed over the Christmas/New Years holiday season. ( whoopie!) Spent 9 days in the hospital and am now getting ready for chemo #2. My schedule is a treatment every three weeks of taxol/carboplatin. The hardest part is the fatigue that hits me about two days after chemo, just getting a shower seems like a daunting task! ( my family would probably resort to the garden hose and a bucket of soap, so I make it happen!) I hope you have a good base of support to help you through the tough days. Best wishes to you as you journey back to health.

Good Morning Nancy Anne, welcome to this group of women... I am learning so much from others on this site. I have learned more from forums than I have from hours of googling and such. You will see while many of us have a lot of the same issues how they are approached are often very different but with good results. Just this morning this thought came to me, while we maybe in the same life boat our life jackets are personalized just for us. Best of luck to you.

Welcome, Nancyanne! I am also positive for the BRCA2 mutation (as are both my daughters). I was diagnosed four years ago at Stage 3C, high grade serous. I had surgery, six cycles of cisplatin/taxol (i had intraperitoneal chemo). The fatigue is incredible but after a few days I was able to walk 30-40 minutes a day as recommended by my oncologist. I also opted for massage and acupuncture before and after each cycle to help with the side effects. This was offered at the hospital where I had my chemo.

It sounds as tho you have a good, positive attitude which I believe is important. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.
