About a month ago I wrote my oncologist started me on Xeloda. Ibrance quit working. Well she is now starting me on Elacestrant. It was approved by the FDA January 2023. All my caris DNA shows I’m still HER-.
Does anyone have experience using this pill? I realize it is fairly new!
Hope all of you are thriving!!

I haven't taken it yet but it is one of my future lines of treatment. My doctor is excited about it as she thinks it has been shown to be very promising. I have no idea about side effects though sorry
Good luck with Elacestrant (Orserdu). Quite a few women on the site have had very positive experiences with this new med or some of the other oral SERDs that were in the running at the time Elacestrant emerged as the leading candidate, including my wife. She participated in the trial for Amcenestrant, one of the top competitors, and her 13 months in that trial were the best quality of life of her six protocols to date. You can see more details about our experiences and those of other women by putting either Orserdu, Elacestrant or Oral SERDs in the search bar at the top of the site, or you can also go back to your post and just scroll down to “Related Posts” and it should show you a few of the helpful chains of responses to similar posts from others-at least that usually works well for me.
I tried Orserdu for 3 months. Tumor markers started going up after one month and I could feel new bones being affected. I knew it wasn’t working. On the bright side I didn’t have any side effects from it at all. I was so hoping it would work for me but recent scans show new lesions on liver and in bones. I’ve decided to try Taxol before Xeloda. Three treatments and so far so good. Tumor markers are coming down!
