Well, what is her doctor telling her to do? Is that a suggestion the doctor made. No one one here can tell you whether or not your sister should get her ovaries taken out? You don't mention where her mets are. Is she stage iv? Why is she thinking they may need to be removed? Did her doctor suggest that?

None of us, for the most part, feel well on any of these treatments or medication. Is she feeling intense pain?

I think this forum board is not the place to ask people whether your sister should have her ovaries taken out, first because no one on here is a doctor and (2) because there is so little information provided.

I think your sister needs to talk to her oncologist about her pain and with her oncologist, come to a decision. I would think if her oncologist felt that they needed to be taken out, they would tell your sister and then that is a decision she needs to decide. It could just be that the shots make her feel unwell. It works that way for some of us.

This question should be addressed with her doctor. I hope she decides to mention this to her doctor and come to a decision with her doctor.

Hi,

I agree with what the other ladies have said. This is a very personal decision and one that your sister needs to make for herself after speaking to her doctor. There are a lot of factors to take into consideration. Some ladies on here have gone ahead with an oophorectomy as they do not want to have injections every month, while others have chosen to keep their ovaries and continue with the injections.

I wish your sister well as she decides what to do for the best.

Hi Rego, if your sister is ER negative she may not need her ovaries out because ER negative cancer isn't fed by hormones. She should see what her oncologist thinks. I wish her the best . She is lucky to have you for a sister. Blessings Hannah
