Reading blood lab tests?

Ladies - I get a monthly blood level test aka CBC. This test is separate from the CA 15 which relates to tumor markers. Eventually I meet with my oncologist who, to date, says my numbers are good. Can anyone explain please what I should pay attention to on the CBC? I understand white and red blood cell counts and neutrophils, but for things like basos, glucose, etc, I am unclear. I noticed the basos and glucose are high with my recent test. (I’m not diabetic so glucose is not usually on my radar.) I don’t know how significant these and other items on the CBC are to MBC. Is there a good resource for laypeople like me to help me decipher these monthly lab results while I wait to see my doctor? Thank you.

I had my glucose come up high one time and was shocked. I’m always within range. Then I realized I had waffles and syrup before the test. Oops. I haven’t done that again, and it’s been fine. Did you eat anything different on the day of the test that might spike it? Now I just drink a Boost before.

Hmm. Had pizza for lunch but I can’t recall anything super sweet. Thanks!

Lots of carbs in pizza...has affected my glucose score in the past!

Yes, I’m thinking it’s the carbs. There are a ton of carbs in syrup.

Sandra I really respect your insight into items posted on here. Godbeforme posted an article 7 days ago about high dose melatonin I was wondering what your thoughts are on it.

I have another nerd question. If we need our immune systems to help fight disease, is there a danger long term in taking a drug like Ibrance that is so immunosuppressive? Or is our immune system not really a front line of attack for MBC? Disclaimer—I am not going to stop taking my meds. Nor do I want medical advice. just curious how it all works.
