Managed to be able to get 10 mile medal by doing a bit of exercise on most days throughout November.

Great Job! I am struggle big time and my oncologist told me yesterday that wants me to exercise at least 4 times a week to strengthen my bones.

Hi!

I hope the exercise helps make you feel better. I try to work out for 30 minutes each day. When I do, I feel so much more energised afterwards. If I leave it for a few days I feel more sluggish, so I think that's my body's way of kicking me into action and telling me to get on with it!

I know. I used to work out but after got cancer again is challenging bc I always get bone pain. However the onc said I need to do it.

I agree with your oncologist. I used to have bone pain too from where the metastases are. But since I started working out I feel much stronger and healthier. So even if you don't feel like it at the moment, I would say go for it. Just start small and build up to a level you feel most comfortable with. I started out with 10 minute workouts and now I can workout for 30 minutes with no trouble.

Will do! I also gain like 10 pounds after this nightmare and they removed my ovaries. I am eating the same amt of food, but maybe I have been lazy and that's why I am getting heavier.

in reply to Nmartinez15

I wouldn't say you are lazy. Perhaps having your ovaries removed contributed to the weight gain, so it may not be anything you have personally done. Also, dealing with pain can really get you down, so I can understand why you have not felt like exercising. If I don't feel up to it then I will skip a day or two. I think the key is to listen to your body and not overdo things.

It makes me feel better I have to use portable oxygen concentrator as cancer in my lungs as well as bones so it's me telling cancer it's not going to stop me.

in reply to Kiera49

Good for you! I hate to put limits on myself due to the cancer. So when we do something out of our comfort zone that is our way of still living our lives despite this diagnosis.

Awesome!

Keep going! I always say exercise makes me feel better! I’ve been slacking since starting my new job...my schedule is all outta whack...😀

in reply to Rhwright12

I know how that can be, Heather! I used to work out between dog walks at around 9:00am, but then I realised I did better later in the day when I have finished work. I also found I was less likely to be running around like a headless chicken trying to fit everything in and still stay on schedule with all my dog walks and other pet appointments. So rather than feel disappointed I can't work out earlier in the day I am pleased to still be able to do it, but just at a different time. I also try to avoid exercise too close to bedtime, otherwise I will be too revved up and trying to take over the world (just kidding!)
