Hello from Fuerteventura

Finally managed to get away. Insurance was just under £200 in the end. I know lots of people don't bother but it's peace of mind for me. Had a big pink G&T sitting right beside the beach yesterday evening and just sat gazing out to sea today contemplating life and listening to the soothing lap of the waves. Very peaceful and therapeutic. View is Costa Calma.

Thanks for all the lovely comments. Gone so quick. Only 2 more sleeps then home. Got to make the most of each moment though so will continue to savour the lovely beach and sunny weather while I can because by the sounds of it, back in the UK winter has most definitely set in. Brrr.

Yes, it's been very cold at home, Josie! I have had to wear thermals this week and be wrapped up tight like a parcel just to keep the chill at bay! I probably looked about 10lb heavier than I really am! The sun is shining today, but it's been very cold, windy and icy this week.

Hi, Fit2travel. I just went on a comparison website and got the cheapest one to suit my needs. I'd tried another one direct, cant remember who now, but i had to ring up, went through all the questions, wait 2 or 3 days, then they said I needed to talk to their underwriters. So i did, went through all the same questions again, only to be told they couldnt insure me. Bah! waste of time.

In my usual long winded way lol, Im saying that for me, the comparison site was so much more straight forward but I guess it depends on where each of us are on our journey. Hope that helps. take care.

So jealous 😒 I love just sitting on the beach under an umbrella getting the breeze reading a good book and yes staring at the ocean thinking of nothing. I hope I get to do that again with this covid hitting us.

And you are smart to get insurance for any trip you go on, peace of mind is worth it.
