Hi everyone, I haven’t really been writing on here and I’m mad at myself for that. I do read everyone’s posts though and hope everyone is doing well at this moment (that’s all we can ask for, right?). I’m doing ok, I think I told you all I went off all Treatment about 5 months ago and so far, no major issues except fatigue (they did find I have low Vitamin D and Iron) which I attribute to the cancer, but my tumor markers haven’t increased much and while I do have random pains in my bones, I’m still taking the painkillers and trying to do the best I can before it gets worse. Currently it’s just bone Mets and my understanding is that this can move very slowly so I’m taking advantage of that!! I adopted two new kitties a few months ago and they turned five months last week! Wanted to show them off with a new photo.

Your cats are beautiful! Did you adopt them from the same litter? They look like siblings.
If your vitamin D and iron levels are low you might want to ask your doctor about supplements. I had a severe vitamin D deficiency a few years ago before my diagnosis, and supplements really helped. My oncologist prescribed Adcal D3 last year, which I am continuing to take.
Also, as you have decided to come off treatment, have you thought about maybe adding more green leafy vegetables and cruciferous vegetables to your diet to build up your bones?

Hi Sophie, yes they are actual brothers and I’m finally starting to tell them apart!! They were identical when I first got them and could only tell which was which was by the black mark on their noses. Chucky’s went across while Chicky’s was only on one side. Now that they have grown a bit, Chucky is 2 pounds larger than Chicky and his fur is also a bit lighter. Although sometimes it’s still hard to tell, lol.
I have doubled my Vitamin D dosage from 1,000 to 2,000mg per day and added an Iron Supplement. I also went back on a multivitamin. My diet definitely could use some improvement. I had lost 40 pounds on the Lynparza and now that my appetite is coming back, I definitely need to start eating better. I will definitely take your advice and add a lot more vegetables. Thank you for mentioning that!!

I had another look at your boys' faces and could see a slight difference to their markings. I love cats, so now you have made me cat broody!
I emailed a doctor who cured her metastatic breast cancer a while ago and she wrote back with some good dietary advice. I hope it's still in my inbox. I'll have a look tomorrow and send it to you if I still have it. It's almost midnight, so I'm off to bed soon.

I should send you a picture of my other cat Weasley. He’s 10 and dark orange with white and so cute!! I’m trying to get a picture of all three of them, but they are not quite at that stage of hanging out together yet. Soon!!

Hi Lisa. What beautiful boys they are. I love my cat Stampy. He has a bad heart and needs tablets 3 times a day. He left a tiny shrew outside the front door today, so obviously feeling quite well.

I was also told that this type of cancer is very ‘inoccuous’. I took that as slow to do anything, which is fine by me. Keep positive. Those boys will keep you happy. Clare 😻

Adorable babies!! Pets are such a blessing and love us unconditionally. I was low Vitamin D and 2,000 mg a day just barely got me in the normal range after 5 months. It takes time to build in the body. My onc recommended I go up to 5,000 a day.
Glad to hear from you. You sound really good. Aren’t pets the best? I have 2 cats and an old Maltese and I can’t imagine life without them. Nice for them too to have one another.
Great news that you're feeling good. The treatment does often make us feel worse that the condition doesn't it. You're very brave to do it and stick to your guns. I think I saw a post of yours the other day where you said your Onc wasn't best pleased with you but it's your body, your illness, so you do what you feel is right for you. Good on you.
The kitties are gorgeous. I have a cat with the not so original name of Sooty! He was a stray that my hubby took in - was very vicious and grumpy but now rubs heads with hubby and sits with him like a baby. He's still a scruffy looking little imp with weird feet - some condition he's got - but it just makes us love him all the more cos he's such a character.

Oh no please. So sorry to hear that. I know you volunteer and are a giver but do you have support? There are times we all need, especially when we are there for others.
I have been posting about my roller coaster ride. Supposed to start xeloda Tuesday. I need my head to be in good place if that’s possible. So much of this is emotional/ mental. I have been on antidepressants for years and now Ativan. Sometimes I feel there are not enough drugs to stay out of getting depressed; try to accept it as part of the roller coaster ride😳♥️♥️
Thank you. I’ve been on meds for years, they work well for a while and then they stop for a while. The volunteering actually helps me so much because that’s what makes me feel better. But yes, I do have supports. I just need to remember to call them when I need them. I hope you have good luck with the Xeloda and please keep in touch!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
