So OMG

Just got home from celebrating, we have NED. As in nothing!! We went through scans with a fine tooth comb (of course I wouldn’t trust a qualified radiologist) and there is nothing there other than scarring. So relieved and totally believe this is treatment plus diet. She was not totally happy with some of my supplements but I am xx

I think that's natural because of the Nature of this Beast. So Enjoy this great news and celebrate.

That is phenomenal!! Congratulations! That's motivating for all of us to hear. Can you refresh my memory and remind me what meds and supplements you took? ❤️

On ibrance and letrozole. Then added Berberine Claritin, aspirin 75 , odus choice super 8 , aloe Vera drink 2 x 30 ml and calci/D the only thing oncologist not happy with was Curcumin.

in reply to Scandia68

Thanks! I'll check on the odus plus. It works....don't change :)

Good for you!!! So far I have been NED for a year and go for scans next week. I have been on only letrozole since October 2018 . I take curcumin as well plus drink a mix or ginger root, turmeric root and cinnamon stick as a tea- really good. Plus many other vitamins. For now I’m staying off Ibrance to give me bone marrow a break and hold off future leukemia as long as possible. I do not buy into the fact that diet and complimentary things don’t help. It’s about your immune system doing what it was meant to do !

Nmartinez15 in reply to blms

I do tea with ginger root and cinnamon stick too. I didnt use tumeric on my tea because it too strong or maybe I am wrong. I like the spice of ginger and help me to sleep. I wish I can take only letrozole but my doctor want me to start with ibrance next month. I did take ibrance in may but put my white cells count very low and she told me to stop. The Ibrance give horrible headaches and make me feel extremely tired and weak.

blms profile image
blms in reply to Nmartinez15

Yeah Ibrance beats the heck ut of you.

Yes, I thinkyou are wrong about the tumeric root being too strong. The three together are really nice, try it. slice the tumeric root thin as well as the ginger root. Don;t bother with the tumeric powder.

Nmartinez15 profile image
Nmartinez15 in reply to blms

Ok I am going to get tumeric roots today to try. I use tumeric power only to make yellow rice!

blms profile image
blms in reply to Nmartinez15

the root is much better in the tea, unless you are making the golden milk. I do occassionally make that as well but I make it with water instead of milk normally. I prefer the root mix. Let me know.

Good to hear you are also doing well. In the UK they won’t allow you to go back on ibrance if you stop for any reason even NED

Becca65 profile image
Becca65 in reply to Scandia68

Hmm we can here - if I have to take again it will be third time. I only on letrozole right now.

Wow. Where was your Mets and what meds did your oncologist have you taking. I am on Ibrance and letrozole and the letrozole is giving me daily diarrhea and intestinal pain. I also had my stomach resectioned. Gastrojujunostomy in August.

Fulvestrant stopped working at 4 months. Reenie

Scandia68 profile image
Scandia68 in reply to Rbeth

I was only given ibrance and letrozole plus monthly danusomab

BakeryBetty profile image
BakeryBetty in reply to Scandia68

Letrozole gave me the worst IBS. Anastrazole was much better. It didn't work for me but it might work for you. :) Letrozole is awful.

Nmartinez15 profile image
Nmartinez15 in reply to BakeryBetty

I am on letrozole only for now. Next month will start Ibrance again lower dose. My only side effects is horrible tiredness and pain in my joint and bone. If your getting IBS with constipation take plant base magnesium 2 every day

And you will see that works!!!!!

That is great news, I'm really happy for you, in fact this has made my day.

I too am on Letrozole and Ibrance and have been dithering as to whether or not to take turmeric and berberine. This article was the best information I could find and sits firmly on the fence!:

drjacobschor.wordpress.com/...

Clearly, neither the turmeric or the berberine have stopped Ibrance working for you so I think I will go for it too. I am also getting used to intermittent fasting and a low GI diet.

Sending good vibes and best wishes - may your NED last a very long time indeed xxx

Scandia68 profile image
Scandia68 in reply to LouisaMay

I only took Berberine for a short while so I don’t think it’s part of the good results but I’m continuing with it. If anything it is diet change low GI and intermittent fasting.
