Taking the fight to Amarillo.........

Well my fellow fighters, I will starting treatment in Amarillo. A different oncologist, but still conferring with my oncologist at MD Anderson. Wednesday I will be getting a port put that morning and having a CT scan that afternoon. Amarillo oncologist said we would start with Eribulin. He said this chemo would have less side effects and my quality of life that I have left would be better. But he also said he's hoping this will put me in remission. So pray please....I'll keep you all posted and thank you all for the support...

Jaxon I , too, just had port installed and had my first Halaven (eribulin) treatment this Monday. This is my 2nd line of treatment after Ibrance and Letrozole failed ((.mets to liver now). I live in San Antonio. This 1st week was a little trial and error. Felt queasy, so I started taking the nausea meds, which caused constipation and horrible headaches. Now that I have stopped the nausea med, I am feeling pretty decent. I have lots of small meals throughout the day, and sip on ginger ale. Since we both are in Texas ( I also went to MDA for 2nd opinion), and appear to be on the same protocol at the same time, I would love to stay in touch. Let us all know how you are doing. Yes, for sure we will stay in touch. I'm allergic to promethizine but can take compazine. The zofran is very bad about constipating. My pelvic is totally consumed with cancer, had the radiation to help with the pain. Mets to my liver also. I will keep you informed..Best wishes to you too......
