The annual SABCS will be starting soon and the number of newspaper articles about the latest thinking in bc will be soaring! My impression from past December reporting is that often the reporters do not really understand what they are reporting on and some of the articles are misleading. It can be really helpful to those of us living with mbc to go to reputable sources of information. SABCS has a website. A patient advocacy group in San Antonio, called Alamo, has solid information. I subscribe on line to Medscape, which has interesting articles aimed at the medical community, all year long. It just had an article about cancer center advertising being highly misleading with focus on "exceptional responders" and not labeling them as such nor balancing their testimonials with info about more typical responses.

I hate the ads. I do think they're misleading. The only thing they haven't done is use girls aged 16 that wear a size 0 in them. But there's still time!
