Essential oils

Hello. Just wondering if anyone has used any essential oils while going thru treatment with Ibrance and letrozole. I have been using painaway for the muscle pain in my neck from the enlarged lymph nodes and it seems to help. So I was wondering if anyone was using them to acutually help treat the cancer. Thanks.

I use lavender and peppermint. Both sooth me.

I was told to NEVER use lavender while taking Ibrance.Not sure why.

Carol do you know who told you that about lavender? If it was a doctor? I'm curious as I'm due to start ibrance and I love to use lavender to help me sleep when I'm stressed.

There is a claim that frankincense is good for people with cancer to try to keep it at bay. I have no idea if there is any validity in that though, or if it is safe to use with these meds.

I'm about to start ibrance and when I saw that there are over 300 other meds that interfere with ibrance, or have bad reactions when combined...makes me nervous about using herbs and oils, both of which I love and don't want to have to give up!

I also use Frankincense for the same reasons among other oils. Peppermint for hot flashes. Lemon to wake me up a bit. On Guard to help protect against others germs. I’m currently only on Tamoxifen and get an Xgeva injection every 3 months.

I would definitely check with a pharmacist as they are best educated on things that can interfere.

Were the enlarged lymph nodes from cancer or from the meds? I’m curious because my glands are swollen on one side and I’ve been on two cycles of these same meds.
