me with MBC and Crohn's

Hello all you amazing people!! I was diagnosed with MBC in July 2017. It freaked me out!! I have always been very health conscious and active. There has been no cancer in my family.. but here am. Crap... I also was diagnosed with Crohn's in 2008. Before that, I was never a pill taker and always healthy. But here I am. Crap... I have very good doctors and very good (outrageously expensive) health insurance. I started Ibrance and Letrozole 9 months ago. I give myself Humira injections every two weeks. I do what DR's tell me to. I also see a acupuncturist monthly, I take Mitrochondrial supplements (VIt. B's), Vit C and ORAC green drink. I eat no dairy, minimal gluten, no fried or preserved foods. I keep food portions small. I feel GREAT. I run a landscape company and am very active. I feel healthier that a lot of people who are 'healthier' than me. I feel so blessed and so lucky. I saw dr 2 days ago and my CEA levels have dropped from 71- 1/2 in July 2017 to 15 !!! Wow, it keeps dropping. I do not read negative info about this (I don't even like to read the possible side effects) . So, I am very very blessed, this all has actually made me a happier and nicer person.. Lynne

I developed Crohn’s as a result of chemo treatments. I’ve been on a lot of them over the past 20 years with MBC. I’m on Pentaza only for Crohn’s and don’t eat dairy products. Was on mercaptapurine but that lowered blood counts too much. My latest HER2 drug, nerlynx, caused bad diarrhea and with Crohn’s, it took a few months to overcome the side effects. Here’s wishing you continued “good health” relatively speaking. It’s great that you are feeling strong. Keep it up!

HI Susie. The same thing happened to me last year! I had really bad back pain. I thought I pulled something, I actually went to a chiropractor ! He did nothing but made things feel worse. My dr ordered a MRI and discovered MBC in my bones. I currently am on Ibrance (this is my 9 month)& I have no side effects. I also take Anaztrole and I get monthly Xgevia shots for osteoporosis. I'm lucky everything is working really well and cancer is shrinking!! The back pain is pretty much gone. When I did have a lot of pain (and anxiety) I got a script for medical marjuana> That stuff is amazing!!! I took a CBD oil inder my tongue. You do not get high with this. It REALLY helps with pain, anxiety, headaches etc...... I highly recommend it. I live in SF Bay Area and I go to Harborside in Oakland. They are very professional and knowledgeable. They help you figure out what you need. Good luck to you Susie!! Stay strong, stay healthy, keep positive!!!!!! XO

For all with Crohn's and other gastro-intestinal conditions: My husband has Crohn's and one of the things we splurged on that has helped him alot is a toilet seat with built in bidet. He found it on line, and it was not cheap but it helps him by cleaning him with a spray of water after a bowel movement and doesn't irritate the skin. It also had a heated seat.
