Hi I’m on my post treatment for bc. I had single mastectomy 2007 Tamoxifen 5 yrs. 2017 came back in mastectomy boob had surgery I needed a job- unemployment ran out so I refused chemotherapy and radiation I needed to find $$$ a job to pay rent n health insurance. 2019 it came back. Had surgery n radiation (my new employer Nordstrom was not content I had radiation appts at 6pm for 6 weeks-then Covid hit and I eventually lost my job). Today I’m cancer free on meds, dr appts and working 16-20 hours at LensCrafters. I used to live the life. I’m 55 single. My dad recently told me “once you get a job all will be fine.” He says that “I’m not sick.” Just doesn’t get it. That’s why I’m here.

Can't think what to say - how can your Dad, at his age, be so naive? We love our parents but that is hard to take. What a journey you are having in life -makes me realise once again how amazing free health care in UK is. Glad you can get unquestioned love from your pets xxx

Prayers everything goes better for u with the job situation. I was diagnosed with brain Mets in November and my employer wasn’t willing to give me an extended time off when I had WBRT. So I get it...Good luck, good health and prayers to u! ❤️🙏🏻❤️

If you have MBC you are eligible for Social Security Disability in the US. I was diagnosed with MBC in October 2020, made the decision to opt to go on SSD - best decision, much less stress and it allows me to focus on healing !
