Tired all the time.

I feel so exhausted most of the time. My chemo ended over a year ago. I am still in reconstruction process. I actually think I am more wiped out now then I was during chemo. Does anyone else feel this way?

It had been 3 years and I'm still tired. Reconstruction , and one revision did me in , and I really need another one. I just had to wait. But then I had to have a total hip replacement and another on other side. Now I'm really tired and depressed. Hope you feel better.

I hear that. I will be so glad when all these surgeries are done. Hopefully the end of July.

It takes a long time for your body to recover. I'm glad most of this is in your rear view mirror. I'm sure the reconstruction process can wipe you out, though I never got very far in it. If you haven't already, I would ask your oncologist about your feeling exhausted. It might be something as simple as vitamins.

It's been a 2 year ordeal between diagnosis and now. Several surgeries and chemo. Add to that I have MS and fibromyalgia. I assume it is normal to be extra tired. I will ask my onc next time.

Quite honestly I felt the same way. It took me along time to get back on my feet. If possible try exercising. The Cancer Support Community and many hospitals have wellness program, all for free. Many Ym/wca's have a post-treatment ABC exercise program. Exercise has been proven to combat fatigue

That would be worth a try. It's a vicious cycle. Need to exercise to get more energy but have no energy to exercise. Guess I can start small.

Greetings: Sister/Warrior/ CancerKickerKathy Before my breast cancer diagnosis 11 years ago I was physically fit.I was running 5 miles 3 days a week, lifting small weights, doing pull ups, push ups and sit ups.The aggressive chemo treatments, unbeknownst to me at the time damaged my cartilage to the point where it was almost completely removed from my knees. At the time I thought I have to just grin and bear it, and run on my treadmill. The pain was unbearable,even more so, when I had to get up from a seated position. I was given an anti-inflammatory and an opiate drug that had me nodding like a heroin junkie.(smile) I was feeling tired all the time, even after over sleeping 9-10 hours a day.I stopped taking the opiate drug, and asked my doctor to give me knee replacements. My doctor said I would have to take physical therapy first. I was signed up for physical therapy and at the same time I started researching natural anti-inflammatory substances, and natural substance to rebuild my cartilage ,and lubricate my knee joints. With the right doses of the natural substances from God's green earth,and with the treatments of my physical therapist, I finished therapy running on the facilities soft tread cushioned treadmill. Every patient who saw me running full force on the treadmill would ask, is she a patient or a worker here on her lunch break, When they realized I was a patient, they would say to my Dr./ therapist, we want what she has (smile) . I was still afraid to run on the hardened street surfaces, so I picked up rollerskating, which was lower impact and even more fun than running. Two years ago I was rollerskating at a good speed, when a group of kids who were skating behind me hit me from behind. The impact sent me flying up in the air, and when I hit the floor my arm was broken in 5 places. I now have one plate and 6 pins in my arm, thanks to the skill of Chief surgeon, Dr. Ukomado ,my angel. So until I have the plate and pins removed I am now fast walking/running in the park,along with interval training. Yes in the beginning I had some initial pain ,not in my joints, but my muscles. Now I am living,laughing and loving this beautiful journey. God always makes a way. Sometimes you have to just kick your behind into it (smile) CancerKickerKathy. Start out doing breathing exercises, low impact yoga, Tai Chi, swimming or dance class. and when your capable challenge yourself to do just a little more each time you work out. Victory is yours. Kick your behind into it. It may not be easy in the beginning, but do your part and God will do the rest Amen! .I pray for God to give you super natural healing and peace and joy.
