Glad to see you here too! The first thing I did when I finished treatment was travel to celebrate. I wanted to go back to New Orleans and 3.5 years later, I'm back. (By the way, I'm a journalist too, but I don't do as much travel writing as I'd like.)

Welcome! I am also new here, too. ....and as a New Orleans native, I would recommend a visit down here anytime EXCEPT summer :-)

Thank you all!!!!! Happy to be here and hear everyone's stories! One new and interesting post radiation issue....a Ct scan for something else found 3 nodes on my right lung. Cue the music from "Jaws". My PCP suggested a PET scan to clear up the issue rather than go in for biopsies. With great trepidation at receiving more radiation but realizing the cortisol released by my stress worrying there was more cancer might be worse... I agreed. The test was yesterday and it turned out to be a comfortable experience. The PET scanner is like a CT scanner and not as enclosing as an MRI. Net result . The radiologistst reading the test said the nodes were scar tissue from the breast cancer radiation!!!! Not dangerous. I think this is important to know for those of us who go through the radiation protocol. And an important conversation to have with your radiation oncologist! Best, Judith

Hi 1jet11,I am going to opt (I think) for what you did--lumpectomy w/radiation, no chemo. Can you tell me what your experience was? How !any treatments, any side effects etc? I have just been diagnosed. Thanks
