Hi Jayne,

From my investigations for approximately 90% of those diagnosed have one episode which then resolves from weeks to about a year. 10% develop a chronic sarcoidosis which over time leads to organ damage and disability and ultimately is life limiting. For those who develop sarcoidosis in the heart or brain prognosis can be limited to weeks to short number of months.

Hope that is helpful

Richard

Richard, thank you for answering. I have been told that I have either Sarcoid, or Non-Specific Interstitial Pneumonia ( I also have asthma). Had X-ray and CT, but drs can't decide! I also have diabetes and psoriasis, and know these conditions are autoimmune. I get a lot of 'brain fog' and have been putting this down to diabetes. But, with joint pains and stiff fingers and toes, and pins and needles, I do wonder if it is neurological. I went through a stage where I was convinced I had MS, but now realise perhaps it is Sarcoid. The dr I will be seeing is a specialist in Sarcoidosis and NSIP.
