Rotigotine Patches
Hi from England. I've just been prescribed these patches (2mg) a few days ago by my neurologist. He's told me to stay on my 4mg Requip (Ropinerol) because of the severity of my condition. He stated that he dislikes the term RLS as it seems to downplay the condition and wrote Willis Ekbom disease which

Hello, First post… Could someone please share their experience coming off

Insomnia caused by neupro/rotigotine
Been taking neupro patches up to 8mg for 8 weeks now and from day one had significant issues with sleep. I normally would fall asleep and wake up 4 to 6 hours later. Now it's often just an hour later and im fully awake. Anyone else got this from their meds? Anyone else had an success in beating this?

Whole-body shaking
I was given Madopar and a huge dose of
Rotigotine
which made things infinitely worse. The
Rotigotine
made my muscles extremely tense which caused the whole-body shaking. I'm trying to understand if the shaking I experience is a PD symptom or not.

Rotigotine/Neupro patches causing deep drowsiness after food
I've recently been ramping up to my current 8mg of neupro. However now I'm noticing that an hour after any significant food I get a deep sleepiness to the point I'm almost asleep on the spot. Any one else get this? Is this just temporary? Think it's all food but maybe others found its certain things?

How to escape Augmentation?
and pregabalin) Doctors also prescribed melatonin, Co-codamol30/500 and ferrous sulphate, After two to three years on
rotigotine
patches (up to 4 mg/da) they where stopped and only then did I realise I was in augmentation because of the dopamine agonists.

This may help some of my fellow sufferers.
During my past episodes at finding a drug that would work, I eventually was on
Rotigotine
4mg/24h which I have used for over 5 years and which would almost control RLS but I would end up with episodes a couple of times a week.

Neupro patch =
rotigotine
dopamine agonist only led to augmentation and severe restless legs syndrome which spread to shoulders - at all times of day. The neurologists don't believe us and only offer more of the same. So we are very unpopular for withdrawing meds and doing our own thing!!

sulfur in dopamine agonists
I tried dopamine agonists: Pramipexole and
Rotigotine
. Both give me stomach problems. My neurologist says they are the lightest and that the others on the market have more side effects. It is true? I have seen the chemical formulas of these drugs: C19H25NOS and C10H17N3S both contain S (sulphur).

Auditory hallucinations
She has been on 8mg of
Rotigotine
for about a year, and we were considering whether this could be reduced to see if it’s contributing to the noise. She is also taking Sinemet 25/100mg every 4 hours, with the controlled release version taken before bed.

Tried different meds - now on
rotigotine

The answer I received from my concern about the treatments on the RLS Foundation website
about a number of things I found , but the link under Resources --> Symptoms and Diagnosis leads to the RLS Foundation site where under Treatment --> Medications it says "the FDA has approved 4 medicines to treat RLS - Ropinirole (Requip), pramipexole (Mirapex), gabapentin enacarbil (Horizant) and

Escape from DA Augmentation
I am 3 months+ since my last DA
rotigotine
patch and at which point I had very severe dopamine agonist augmentation I reduced oxycodone from 25mg/day (5 x5mg tablets) to 20mg/day (which did not prevent RLS breaking through) and then switched to Buprenorphine (1x 10mg weekly patch).

the curse of lifelong RLS…
Three years ago, at the age of 60, I got to see the professor himself and he advised Dopamine Agonists , either Ropinirole or the
Rotigotine
Patch, despite my ferritin being way below 100 my request for an iron transfusion was refused.

Questions about Neupro
Hello, Is it fine to taper off Neupro (
rotigotine
) patches by cutting out pieces? And what is the equivalent dose of Mirapexin extended release to a patch of Neupro 2mg ? Thanks!

Ropinirole ( Requip) Ontario Parkinson's
I have tried Pramipexole and Neupro
Rotigotine
patches as alternatives but can not take them due to severe side effects. My neurologist says we are out of options and I will be trying a change of schedule . I will now be taking one (1) levadopa/carbadopa 25 mg / 100 mg, every 1-1/2 hours.

Slow release?
My consultant changed me from Ropinirole to
Rotigotine
patches, the theory being that as my pain and my symptoms are 24/7 slow release would be better for me.However I've been ten times worse since the change, and have a painful swollen ankle.
