Does anyone have experience with taking
romiplostim
(nplate)? Can taking it disqualify you from clinical trials in the future?

Associations between osteoporosis and drug exposure: a post-marketing study of the World Health Organization pharmacovigilance database
New disproportionality signals with a pharmacologically plausible mechanism were found for drugs used in neurology (levodopa (ROR [95%CI]: 10.18 [4.33-25.10]), selective serotonin agonists (4.22 [2.34-7.00]) and memantine (4.10 [1.56-8.93])), hematology (
romiplostim
(4.93 [1.15-21.10])), pulmonology

Long term side effects of Mycophenolate in ITP?
I was then on
Romiplostim
for about 7 months but it had to be discontinued as it caused fibrosis of the bone marrow. I’ve been on 2.5g daily of MMF for the past 3 months and it just started working in the past 7 weeks. My platelets have been fluctuating between 14-30.

Eltrombopag vs Romiplostim
I am considering asking my haematologist if I can switch (after being on eltrombopag for 3 months) to
Romiplostim
. I see from a table showing a summary of treatments for ITP that there is a whole long list of side effects with eltrombopag but nothing significant listed at all for

We have an ongoing romiplostim clinical trial in pune India.
This trial constitutes checking bioavailability of
Romiplostim
, in comparison with Innovator molecule. The drug provided will be free of cost. If you are not responding to steroids, it might just be an option. speak to your doctor and post to me.

Decision Time
The options are ether, Eltrombopag {Revolade Tablets} or Nplate {
Romiplostim
}. If you are or have tried either of these, I would be grateful if you would let me know what your experience is/was like. In particular I would like to know what the side-effects are/were. Thank you. Rafiq

What's the format for treating with
romiplostim
. Where I am now they are supposed to call me to tell me my platelet count and discuss dose but they forget to call so I don't know where I am.

Too High Platelet count following Rituximab and Romiplostim
She was put on
Romiplostim
injections but they did not have any effect. She was then given a round of Rituximab and following this her platelet count increased to over 200. The
Romiplostim
injections were halted. Her platelet count has now increased to over 1600.

Our Dog has Chronic ITP
I recently stumbled upon a study of 5 dogs conducted in late 2014 and 2015 at a German university where the dogs successfully responded to treatment with
romiplostim
(Nplate). Any luck with this treatment or any advice on getting financial assistance through the manufacturer with this drug?

Chronic itp. Latest treatment is rituximab
Was then put on
romiplostim
; count bounced around everywhere and I got flu-like symptoms which persisted for a number of months. I was then placed on eltrombopag in September 15. Counts were reaching dizzy heights of 30 which was good for me.

Has anyone had a splenectomy and it has not helped ITP? does anyone know any statistics (success rate etc)?
He has been on
Romiplostim
for around 10mths and his counts have yo-yo'd however this is due to getting a higher amount of the drug and then the body getting used to this, then his counts go down.
