. i havent had this for a long time used to get it in my arms but havent had it a while now.. but other night had it in my legs and never got any sleep all night kept me awake..... what can i do to relieve it?

You need medical treatment. Go and discuss this with your GP.

It is really hard to answer that if you have only had it as spradically as you have. As you have observed, RLS can disappear for a while, but then come back later and haunt you. Once you get a few of those bad nights under your belt, and see if a pattern starts to develop, then it will be easier talk to a doctor about it. When sleep deprivation gets severe, so can many other problems. So, it's best to stat acquring knowledge now on reputable web sites. rlshelp.org health.com rls.org all are great RLS web sites. Check the treatment page on rlshelp.org, and the list of "Drugs and Foods to Avoid". If this continues on a neurolgist or a sleep docto are the ones who have the best training in sleep disorders.

Listen to nightdancer, she has so much knowledge on RLS, follow and you wont go far wrong. Do go to your Dr (as per trebop) as you will need meds at some stage and of course avoid caffeine.
