hi, i used to about a year ago, i was using them and they worked, but for me, i had a lingering yukky tired feeling all day, and the patch affected my skin quiet badly, terrible itching and sore spots where i put the patch. Im not using the patch anymore, and ive gradually weaned myself of the gabapentin, i put on a lot of weigh with it.

But saying all that, i do know of people who get along famously with both, so i think we just have to try, and see what works for us, we are all different, with rls and meds, maybe thats why its taking time to find a cure

Hi thanks for repling, yeah i got that sicky feeling all the time wasnt sure which one was making me feel like it as i have been on both before but one at a time, i am trying to combine two together as a lot of people on here seem to do. I have most of the drugs they mention on here but they have all seemed to stop working, i mostly have the symptoms whenever i sit down to relax, its driving me mad. I have got hospital again on the 16th so hopefully they might be able to suggest something else. I have been offered DBS but don't wont to go down that road.

hi,firstly, what is DBS??, Its really weird how we all react to the meds !! what works for one is awfull for the next, maybe its one of the reasons we have to wait so long for them to find a cure, also sames to be lots of different causes, mines genetic, mum had it and me now my son has it, im keeping my fingers crossed that mu grandkids dont . Yes the symptoms are allways worse when your body tries to rest, thats the thing i hate most about this horrid curse, , i also have an appointment to see my neuro, on the 9 of this month, not looking forward to it, as the clinic allways runs at least 2 hours over!! heavaen help the last in the queue!!!

Hi DBS is Deep Brain Stimulation, my consultant says it is on Trial in Bristol Hospital. My RLS is genetic too my dad had it, but never so bad as i have got it and i have 3 children and my youngest daughter has got it slightly hopefully it wont get as bad as mine. Today i have gone back on my Mirapexin half of a 0.35mg tablet this morning and the other half now and also on 3mg Neupro Patch, so going to try that until i go to the Hospital. I would like to get something sorted before i fly to Turkey in July as the flights are getting a nightmare.

oh dear, that doent sound nice, and i do hope your daughter does suffer from it to badly, i think thats the worse thing, when we pass it to our children, my son has it, and i cant help but feel guilty, even though i know i have no control over it
