I'm currently tapering down pramipexole 0.18mg over the last 6 month and went trough some rather hard times so far, and currently down to 40%. i have a pharmacist make my pramipexole into a syrup and i use a syringe to measure it down.
5 weeks ago I messed up pretty bad and took the dose without shaking after a very long day, and after i realized this i took another half dose just to be sure. I woke up with horrible RLS episode in my forearms and terrible anxiety so I took some extra. the next week i had horrible RLS every evening but i countered this with a 20 min stretching session and this worked and after 7 days this subsided.
Another effect i had is that i would wake up every morning around 5 ( after about 6 hours of sleep) and couldn't sleep anymore for about an hour. during this i had a very strange feeling all over my body, as if there was electricity running trough me. every movement i would do would feel exaggerated: if i tried to turn around silently i would almost jump instead. I feel the need to rub my legs together and im shaking from time to time. when i fall asleep afterwards its very fragmented sleep and im dreaming really weird, usually doing repetitive work related things in my dream. I also constantly have the last song i heard stuck in my head really badly. When i wake up and i would continue the song i heard last before bed.
this has been going on for about 5 weeks now. this has happened 2 times before ( both times were way stronger in effect) but they subsided in 2 weeks. this one keeps going and i don't really feel improvement.
has anyone here who tapered of prami has had a similar experience?
do you think its the withdrawal, or RLS which returns now that im on lower doses of prami? ( before i took prami i would only get the annoying feeling in my leg which went away went i moved ).
any input in greatly appreciated, im pretty much at the end of my wits here.
