Has anyone been on a low dose of Pramipexole and do a straight swap over to Buprenorphine? If so, how did you achieve this?
Thanks

Hi FloridaRN, I see no one has responded yet to your post. I have been on Pramipexole and am now on buprenorphine but didn't do a straight swap. As far as I know, it's not to be advised but others who are more in the know than I am may have a better answer. I believe the advise would be to reduce the Prami with the help of an opioid- possibly buprenorphine, and once off the Prami with withdrawal effects over (within weeks hopefully), you can get good coverage with buprenorphine. I think I've read of someone going onto buprenorphine and it really helped with withdrawing from the Prami but I couldn't swear to that.
You say you're on a 'low dose' of Prami. What dose are you on?
I think SueJohnson or Julesg would be better equipped to answer your question. Good luck.
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I am now taking 1 x 0.125mg of Pramipexole, daily.
I'm really happy to hear the Buprenorphine is working out for you.
Keep going with the decrease as Sue and Jools have suggested in your previous post. How are you doing with the withdrawal? Do you have something to assist with it? Don't just stop it even though you're on a far lower dose. I was only on a maximum dose of 0.125 and augmented, so even though it's lower than it was, don't just stop it.
