Hello. If I take one 0.25mg of Pramipexole in the afternoon and then one at night it seems to work. When it starts to not work then i return to taking one Ropinirole 1 mg in the afternoon and 2 at night. I hope this helps someone.

Have you considered switching to gabapentin? Dopamine agonists such as ropinirole and pramipexole are no longer considered first-line treatments for RLS because of the risk of augmentation. Up to 70% of people will eventually suffer augmentation according to the Mayo Clinic Updated Algorithm on RLS which believe me you don't want because it can be hell to come off it and the longer you are on it, the harder it will be to come off it. Check out the Mayo Clinic Updated Algorithm on RLS which discusses augmentation and the latest guidelines on RLS treatment.

I used to toggle between the two drugs, too. It's the worst path ever to be on either one of these drugs. The toggling helps with the augmentation of each, and you are augmenting if you have to switch.
The day will come when you will need and want to get off of these DA drugs.
If at all possible, cut down the amount you are taking and try every natural measure to ameliorate what you are doing.
The less mg's you are taking in, the better your health and future.
Step one: Get your ferritin checked first of all and then supplement iron or an iron infusion accordingly.
Know and avoid RLS triggers. I did not do that, as I did not know there were so many. Of course, that just made me take more drugs.
Please read this forum for all the information you need and good luck to you!
I agree with Teddij. Have you had your ferritin checked? If so what was it? Also what medicines and over the counter supplements are you taking? If you tell me, I can tell you whether they are exacerbating your symptoms and possibly give you a choice of another that is safe for RLS.
