Ropinirole

I’ve been prescribed Ropinirole 1.5 mg. It’s been almost a year and I’ve had success with the medication. I notice I have heart palpitations after my evening pills. Should I be concerned if my heart is fluttering?

Yes you should be concerned. Tell your GP asap as heart issues are listed as side effects. Also report via the yellow card scheme.

If GP recommends coming off Ropinirole- do not stop cold turkey or the withdrawal will be horrendous.

"Palpiations" is defined as being where you become aware of your heart beating. This is usually because it changes speed or become irregular in rhythm.

There's many reasons for people experiencing palpitations for these reasons, many of which aren't a problem. This may be true in your case.

However, since you've noted these occur after taking the tablets and since a slow, fast or irregular heart beat is listed as a serious side effect of ropinirole it is suggested you contact a doctor immediately or go to ER.

NOTE do not decide to stop taking the ropinirole before getting medical advice, stopping it suddenly is dangerous.

I have RLS aftert meals dozing.I take .5 R each meal and two of .5 at night. How many are you taking at one time and during the day? 1 Take 2 gabipentine at night with the R (2 0f .5). R at the proper dose and with out a similiar medication may be the need to continue but evaluate dose and other medication. Please take to a Neurologist familiar with RLS actual jerks and not thinking about them at night or day. Good Luck. You are the care giver.
