Was on Ropinirole 15 yrs----worked but was treated many times for fatigue with NO Consideration it was being caused by medicine. When they increased dosage fatigue increased---including falling asleep while DRIVING-----was lucky to not crash. Drs. were surprised by this. I now take RESTAVIN, & CALM LEGS by Nature Origins. I stopped Ropinirole cold turkey---which is a no-no-----had very rough few days, I have NO RLS now----and no serious fatigue issues I am a male in my 80's, and although ROPINIROLE stopped my RLS , I would NOT RECCOMEND it to anyone who has not tried non-drug solutions first.

Fatigue and sudden daytime sleepiness are known effects of dopamine agonists.

There are alternatives.

If methodone didn't suit you, then low doses of oxycodone or buprenorphine are effective for some.

If you can't tolerate those opioids then the usual alternative to dopamine agonists is an alpha 2 delta ligand, pregabalin, gabapentin or gabapentin enacarbil.
