Update-Weighted blanket arrived!

Hi! I've read so many good things about weighted blankets here not only for RLS but also for fibromyalgia and so I decided to order one. It arrived this morning and I haven't tried it yet.

Right now I was trying to find out how to use it and most of the comments I see now are negative!! I spent a lot of money on that thing and now I'm worried... :-(

I got a weighted blanket, don't use it much as I have to get up a lot. just put it on the bed so that it hangs over the side but not a lot. use a sheet or blanket under it so it won't get as dirty.

Thank you very much dlr222.

I used it last night and put a bed sheet under it.

Hi Micafe, I just had a look at weighted blankets and fibromyalgia and this is what I found which sounds positive.

How can a weighted blanket help with fibromyalgia?

5 Ways a Weighted Blanket May Help Ease Fibromyalgia Symptoms

1 Increase Serotonin. Serotonin is an important chemical in the body. ...

2 Reduce Fatigue. As any fibromyalgia patient will tell you, chronic fatigue is one of the most debilitating symptoms of the disease.

3 Ease Anxiety and Depression. ...

4 Help Manage Pain. ...

5 Improve Mood. ...

Simple step guide to use a weighted blanket.

Arrange your blanket first on bed because it’s difficult to handle while sitting in bed.

Get into the blanket.

Do not use too many pillows (it can cause blanket to slip from your chest).

Start by laying on your back.

Keep your arms and legs under the blanket.

Your feet can be covered or uncovered, however, you are most comfortable :)

Get comfortable, let blanket do it’s work.

As dir222 mentions, probably a good idea to use a sheet or blanket under it to keep it clean.

Thank you, thank you, dear Kaarina!! I'm really hoping it will work for me.

I used it last night. I felt hot and had to turn on the ceiling fan and eventually fell asleep. I slept well most of the night.

🥰 👍 👌 👏 😋

Yes, Flame43. All the good responses were the reason why I bought the blanket.

For some reason when I looked again yesterday, many comments were negative and I was concerned.

I tried the blanket last night and I slept well so I'm happy now.
