I suffered from RLS for years until I started taking daily “gentle iron” and vitamin C. I have been RLS free now for three months. However, I was away from home last week and out of my usual routine. I forgot to take my iron/vit C combo at night for maybe three nights, when at 2am I got that old familiar creeping feeling in my left leg. I got up, took the iron/C and within half an hour it had gone!
It is my belief that for whatever reason (heavy periods is definitely one of them), some people simply cannot store iron very well and need a regular boost.
So, PLEASE before embarking on medication, and even while also taking it, don’t give up on the iron supplements🙏🏼
